COVID-19 Coronavirus Update – 2020 Torchlight 5K
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate the current COVID-19 situation. The health and safety of our participants, volunteers, vendors, community and team members is our top priority as we continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation on a global, national, regional and local level.
It is absolutely our goal to continue to host this year’s Life Time Torchlight 5K in the safest possible manner. As such, our team is constantly monitoring updates from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as local governments in regard to this year’s event.
At this time, we have determined that it is too early to make any decisions regarding canceling or rescheduling. If a decision is made to reschedule or cancel this year’s event, we will provide you as much advance notice as possible and will communicate all relevant information regarding 2020 race registration at that time. We respect the need for timely communication and planning and are committed to providing both to our participants.
It is our goal to create memorable experiences which we’re hopeful we’ll be able to provide at this summer’s race, and we want nothing more than to see you safe & sound in downtown Minneapolis come July 22nd.
Thank you for your continued support. Run on, our friends.
The Life Time Torchlight 5K Team
We are aware of the Minneapolis Parks & Recreation Board’s announcement yesterday stating that all of their internal events and programs have been cancelled through August 31st. We are also aware of some confusion as to what that means for this summer’s Torchlight 5K. Based on direction from the City of Minneapolis, as of today, we are continuing to plan for a race date of July 22nd as scheduled. We will continue to post any additional updates as the situation develops, with the ultimate priority of keeping everyone involved safe. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
