The Torchlight 5K starts near the historic Basilica of Saint Mary and follows the Aquatennial's CenterPoint Energy Torchlight Parade route. The course offers up close views of the Guthrie, Gold Medal Park, the Mighty Mississippi River, Stone Arch Bridge and St. Anthony Main.

Three Ways to Register

Online  - Online registration is now open. The first 500 people who register will receive a complimentary visor. 

In person - Register in one of our partner retail locations beginning June 15 - July 19 until store close. Walk right in, sign up and receive your limited edition T-shirt, race bib and same-day store discounts. Store locations will be announced closer to race day. Exclusions may apply, discounts may vary per store.

Race Day - You can even sign up the evening of the race. Race-day registration will be available between 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. behind the Basilica of St. Mary's.


In-person registration and packet pickup locations

Please note, the REI location will only be available for registration and packet pickup on one day, July 16.

Team Challenge

Got a cool team of 15? Join the Team Challenge. Gather your coworkers, gym buddies, family and friends and get in on our team competition for even more camaraderie and excitement! Teams with 15 or more participants will receive a special gift. On race day, team captains of teams with 15+ participants must come to the Life Time Athletic Events Marketing booth at the Finish Festival to receive the gifts.

Teams must register online. Each participant registers individually in the Team Challenge category. Join an existing team or create a new one by typing in your team name during the registration process.

All team members must be registered by July 21, 2015 to count towards team numbers.

**Allina Health employees must register for the Adult or Youth 5K. Discount is not eligible for the Team Challenge.

Schedule of Events

4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Race-day registration and packet pickup in the Basilica parking lot. Remember to bring your photo I.D. to get a 21+ wristband before the race starts!
7:20 p.m. Runners line up at the corner of Hennepin Ave & 16th Street North according to pace
7:30 p.m. Race begins
7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Celebrate your finish with a cold brew at the post-race party!

The new Green Line will be crossing over the course during the race. Runners will be divided into start waves according to pace to avoid being interrupted by the light rail. We will have timing mats at the crossing in the event runners are impeded by the train. Initial post-race time for those affected will include stoppage time, however we will adjust online results to exclude stoppage time by Saturday, July 26.

Parking & Directions

NEW THIS YEAR! Shuttle buses from the finish to the start line will be available from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Buses will pick participants up on SE Main Street and SE 3rd Street after the race and drop off in front of the Target Center.

Please arrive early to allow ample time to find parking and walk to the race site due to downtown congestion.

Parking is available in downtown Minneapolis parking lots (except Nicollet Island Inn and Dunwoody) and ramps are available online at: Parking Facilities. Plan on walking a few blocks up to 1 mile. We recommend either parking in the A,B,C lots near Target Field or park at the finish in the St. Anthony Main parking lot or ramp. (Located at University Ave SE & 2nd Ave) 

Metro Transit is another great option for getting into downtown Minneapolis. Normal rates apply.

If you park in the neighborhoods, please be courteous. Don't block any driveways and respect private property.
